Joanna Fashjian

Jo is in her second semester of her Master of science degree in epidemiology at the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She holds two bachelor's degrees in public health and gender/sexuality studies. Her writing expertise focuses on public health, gender/sexuality studies, psychology, sociology, communications and other diverse academic and professional writing purposes.

Jo has researched and written content for various workbooks for provider and advocate use, including on trauma-informed care and other reproductive healthcare topics. She is also the second author in "Community Health Workers and Social Media: Benefits, Drawbacks, and Training Needs." Further, she has written blog articles promoting awareness/victim empowerment and violence prevention in the competitive dance industry. She also serves as a public health research assistant for Dr. Manuel Ocasio and Sean Sylve, is a youth organizing fellow with Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and is researching and preparing to write about secular public education policies.
